How to Locate songs in our Catalog
Because the search information needs to match the file information exactly, try typing as little as possible (ie. start with just the band name, like "ABBA" or "ADAMS, BRYAN" and see if you can locate the song that way). If the artist has hundrends of songs, it might be easier to search the title of the song.
#1. For a proper name (like
Bryan Adams) type the artist's
"Last name, First name"
If you can't find what you are looking for, check your spelling!
#2. For a band name or song title
"THE" is never placed at the
begining of an alphabetical
search.
Avoid using articles like
"The", "A" & "And"
The Beatles will be listed as "Beatles, The"
#3. If you encounter more than one posting of the same song by the same artist
The code numbers will be different. If the song starts with a code number or ends in a letter (example "501-12b"), it is not the best version of the song is a custom verion (most likely in the wrong key), so don't sing that version
#4. One word Band names like Chicago may be found faster by typing (BAND) after the name"
#5. Lynyrd Skynyrd, Steve Miller Band, Montgomery Gentry Band, etc.
These are band true names. The last name does NOT go first
#6.
(EL) after a song title stands for explisit Lyrics and is never played at Legions or around children.
Karaoke Guidlines
Karaoke is a community of people who get together to have fun; to enjoy each other's company and love of music. These simple rules have been put in place so that everyone can have a good time and be treated fairly.
The biggest problem that karaoke hosts face is dealing with the people who want to sing more than others. To be fair to everyone, these are our policies...
#1. Every singer gets one turn. However, a singer may ask for help from someone already in the singer's rotaion, if that "HELPER" has not sang twice in the singer's rotaion yet.
Once someone has sang twice in a rotation, they can't sing twice again.
#2. Anyone who comes up and grabs a mic (uninvited) will be ushered off stage.
Also, please be respectful & don't raise your voice to be heard over a singer who is performing.
#3. Anyone who resorts to physical violence, or has anger issues causing trouble for others, will find themselves permanently barred from singing.
It's a good idea to follow these suggestions
